Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity for a Survey Delivery Engineer(s) to join the recently established Survey Delivery Team based in Great Yarmouth. As a bright and ambitious individual your primary responsibility will be to ensure successful delivery of the technical aspects on assigned projects across the Geophysical, Geotechnical and Environmental divisions.  You will promote strong working relationships between technical functions, commercial, operations and reporting departments with core responsibility of managing cross functional teams to deliver technical services and products to internal and external clients. The Survey Delivery Engineer is a leading role at the forefront of Gardline’s operations and as such we are looking for a proactive and passionate marine survey professional to have significant impact on the organisations to help drive future success.

What will you do?

  • You will be responsible for coordinating all technical activities on assigned projects and be the interface between offshore operations and onshore support functions.  
  • Understand the project requirements and define clear goals and objectives to prepare technical programmes of work.
  • Oversee and verify the technical package design, installation and commissioning for assigned projects.
  • Assist with the preparations of bids and quotations by verifying technical content, cost information and schedules.
  • Monitor and control performance at all stages in the project lifecycle, applying effective coaching interventions as required.
  • Contractor management of 3rd party services and provide seamless integration into Gardline’s operations. 
  • Review and evaluate project performance against key success criteria, reporting on findings and driving change initiatives to improve operational capabilities.
  • Conduct incident and equipment breakdown investigations, identifying root cause and ensuring mitigation plans are created and implemented.
  • Contribute to achieving company and departmental KPI’s.
  • Support R&D to introduce new products into the operational environment. 
  • Support the commercial and BD teams through effective client interaction to secure contracts and build long standing relationships. 
  • Comply with and promote company QA and HSE procedures.

Your experience

You will be a proactive and ambitious individual who has excellent knowledge of the survey acquisition process and final reporting requirement, likely to be gained by operating in front-line technical role in a core marine survey discipline. You will ideally be educated to degree level in a technical or scientific discipline combined with an industry recognised project management qualification. You will have experience of designing survey packages, creating project plans, schedules, project budgets and leading cross functional teams to deliver technical projects on time and on budget. You will have a high level of computer literacy including Microsoft packages: experience of project planning tools and AutoCAD would be advantageous.
