Gardline shares offshore windfarm experience with Sinotech in Taiwan

By - 24/04/2017 15:34

On 29th March 2017, Gardline organised a knowledge-exchange seminar with Sinotech in Taipei. The half day seminar was well attended by technical staff of all levels from both Sinotech Inc. and Sinotech Ltd. Andy Campbell, Lead Environmental Scientist APAC and Roi Santos, Geoconsultancy Manager, attended the event for Gardline. Gardline delivered a series of presentations focusing on the importance of environmental monitoring during the development of offshore windfarms and the necessity to use advanced geotechnical site investigation techniques integrated with high resolution seismic to generate accurate 3D ground models for foundation designs.

The event was hosted at Sinotech’s headquarters in Taipei and was deemed a great success by both parties. Sinotech shared their experience of the Taiwanese market and in particular the offshore renewables sector. In return, Gardline were able to reciprocate by sharing some of the valuable experience and lessons learned gained during the past 15 years working for the offshore wind industry in Europe and the US.

Andy Campbell explained, “Gardline were honoured to be invited to Sinotech’s latest training facility in Taipei. Sinotech delivered an enthusiastic audience making the seminar a dynamic two-way event.

The event was a great opportunity to discuss new developments and new technologies in the industry. It was also the ideal platform to promote standardization of work practises between markets that are culturally and geographically seperated.”
