Due to the expansion of its Geotechnical operations, Gardline Limited is seeking to recruit qualified graduate Geotechnical Engineers or Geotechnical Engineers with some experience in the offshore industry to support the geotechnical survey and consultancy teams.

Job Description  

You will be responsible for onshore and offshore geotechnical project data and sample collection, laboratory testing and reporting of findings.

Whilst onshore, the primary role of the Geotechnical engineer will be responsible for managing and controlling the geotechnical project deliverables including handling, quality checking, and processing offshore data, managing the onshore lab testing scope and reporting the final deliverables. Additional consultancy work including engineering analysis (geotechnical parameters for engineering design, bearing capacity calculations, ground modelling etc.) will also form part of the role for the right candidate.

Whilst offshore, the Geotechnical engineer will be required to carry out offshore geotechnical activities in line with industry accepted standards and Gardline principles, along with following instruction from the party chief/OPM.

The geotechnical engineer will be expected to acquire and process high quality geotechnical data and will undertake basic offshore laboratory testing and soil and rock testing. The production of factual geotechnical reports will be required while working in the field.

Job Requirements 

The ideal candidate will hold a recognised BSc degree or equivalent in Geotechnics or civil engineering and will have experience working with geotechnical data, quality control and processing of CPT data along with good technical report writing skills and a basic understanding of laboratory testing. Experience of geophysical data handling or ground modelling will also be considered for onshore roles.

A good knowledge of the software including Microsoft Office suite, gINT, ArcMap, and GlobalMapper is also preferable for this role. The candidate will also be familiar with GIS, Geodetics and basic map work.

Roles available are onshore roles with some periods at sea depending on the needs of the company, and offshore seagoing roles. Full training will be provided. You will also be required to pass appropriate medical and survival course upon joining us.
